Jackson St, Petone has a nice feel to it. About 1km of old shops and businesses, none over two storeys. They include about 40 eating places. The good, the bad, and some outstanding.

A couple of years ago I set out to eat at every one. Some of my friends have suggested I keep a record and make some observations. But until now I couldn't be bothered. Now I've finished the north side (west to east) and I'm about to start back along the south side, I think I'll do it.

I'm Michael Wood, a resident of Lower Hutt of which Petone is the oldest part. I don't have particular foodie skills, and I don't eat out all that often. But I do like good coffee. So here goes.
